April Desjarlais, Steering Committee Member

April is the founder and President of Khione Resources Limited, a human resources contracting agency specializing in the diamond mining and construction sectors.  She previously owned and operated Expedite North, a successful expediting and logistics management company serving the mineral exploration sector.  Prior to operating her own business, April was a site biologist during the construction phase of Diavik Diamond Mine.  April is Métis, her family is Cree from Northern Saskatchewan. April has lived in Yellowknife for over forty years.  She attended the University of Saskatchewan, earning her Bachelor of Science in biology, with a focus on the Arctic.  A past member of the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce, April is a vocal advocate for the Yellowknife business community and for Indigenous women in business and mining.
