Gaeleen MacPherson, Steering Committee Member

Gaeleen is a Tłı̨chǫ Citizen and lifelong Northerner, currently working as a senior manager with the global mining company, Rio Tinto.  She is skilled in mineral exploration, negotiation, budgeting, technical recruiting, and remuneration. Gaeleen has a Bachelor of Management focused in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations from The University of Lethbridge and started her HR and mining career in 1998 at the Diavik Diamond Mine in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Since this time, she has held progressively senior positions across the industry, and has received multiple awards for her accomplishments. 

Because of her work in the mining industry, Gaeleen has taken a keen interest in the education, training, and development of the people of the Northwest Territories. A former Chair of the Mine Training Society of the Northwest Territories, Gaeleen is also a former Board Member of the Mining Industry Human Resources Council of Canada. She is currently President of the NWT Chapter of Women in Mining.
